Becoming a UX mentor requires a lot of effort, hard work and experience in the field.
The role of a mentor is a combination of multiple skills.
A mentor behaves like a teacher, a coach, an adviser, a therapist and a counsellor at the same time. As a mentor, I aim to inspire my mentees and help them make better decisions for their career as a designer, which will positively impact them.
Being a mentor has been an exciting opportunity to engage with other designers and also a chance to learn from them. I feel humbled to see how much my mentees have grown and are better designers and design leaders.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” — William Arthur Ward
